The Hooglandse Kerk in Leiden has a long-standing tradition of welcoming both Dutch and international choirs to perform Evensong in its magnificent medieval setting. Each year, from spring through autumn, we host six Sunday Evensongs that attract a wide and appreciative audience. We are committed to being an open church and believe in the power of music to inspire and bring people together.
We warmly invite visiting choirs to apply. Experience the exceptional acoustics of the church and sing accompanied by the renowned ‘Father’ Willis organ. Choirs are also welcome to enquire about giving a concert, in principle with organ accompaniment. If you are interested in performing here, please send us an email including your résumé and a recording.
Evensong begins at 17:00. You are, of course, welcome to arrive earlier to rehearse and to enjoy some time in the beautiful city of Leiden.
